Join us at 6 p.m. CDT on Tuesday, October 25, as Professor Steven Boylan discusses the central management skill of effectively motivating and leading individuals and teams.

In the age of quiet quitting, remote work, and shifting extrinsic motivators, building authentic team relationships while cultivating intrinsic value and motivation becomes incredibly important and increasingly hard.

Professor Boylan is a tenured member of the University of Kansas School of Business faculty, a published author, and a retired U.S. Army colonel. He has a Ph.D. in Management. 

He will share essential tips to help you better understand and manage human behavior in the workplace. 

Professor Boylan teaches the Managing People course (MGMT 706), which addresses topics, challenges, and processes associated with business-related people issues.

Students in the Managing People course learn how to:

  • Increase understanding of human and group behavior in organizations
  • Effectively motivate and lead individuals and groups 
  • Increase effectiveness in managing oneself and others in team settings
  • Increase understanding of human resource policies and practices that help create and sustain competitive advantage through people
